News · Verified October 1, 2026 · Apple’s September 14 rollout; Siri AI launch limits include the EU and China.
Before an update, start with the feature you want to use. In its September 14 announcement, Apple said new features were beginning to roll out across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27 and tvOS 27. That describes the rollout’s start, rather than a promise that every feature has reached every device. Apple’s software announcement
Siri AI has its own limits. Apple described an English-language beta requiring supported hardware and language settings. At launch, it excluded Siri AI on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch in the EU; it also said Siri AI and the other new Apple Intelligence features were unavailable in China. Those restrictions matter if the assistant is your reason for updating. Availability notes
The AppleApps take: check Apple’s supported-product list and regional notes against your device and settings before expecting a particular feature. An OS version and an AI feature are different compatibility questions. This brief is based on Apple’s documentation; we have not assessed Siri AI’s accuracy or everyday performance.
