Checked 1 October 2026. We reviewed official Anki documentation and Apple listing metadata. We did not test learning outcomes, review reliability or accessibility in use.
There is a phrase you keep forgetting, a set of terms you need for a course, or a small topic you want to keep fresh. AnkiMobile belongs on a little daily learning shelf for that specific material. It is easiest to evaluate when your deck has a clear purpose. Ten useful cards can reveal more about your routine than downloading an enormous collection because its title sounds impressive.
First, get the right app
This audit concerns Store ID 373493387 and bundle net.ichi2.anki. Apple's current US metadata names Anki Software, LLC and lists a US$24.99 purchase, version 25.09 and an iOS 15.2 minimum. Older AppleApps metadata still names Ankitects and an older version, but the Store ID and bundle match the official app linked by Anki's ecosystem. Similar names in search are not interchangeable identities. Check the exact listing before buying. Official AnkiMobile listing, Apple's US metadata
The review loop
The official study guide describes showing a question, revealing its answer and choosing a response that determines when the card appears again. The buttons display the next review interval. It also documents a scratchpad for material such as character writing. These are documented controls; we have not observed how quickly a new learner understands them. Study Screen guide
Our interpretation is that the app fits someone willing to write or curate questions that can be answered clearly. A card containing an entire chapter makes it hard to judge what you remembered. A smaller question gives you something specific to retrieve. The app's scheduling cannot establish that a shared deck is accurate or that its content matches your course. Check the material against the source you are studying.
